SHDA’s 7th Housing Expo Offers Equal Access to Home Ownership
October 7, 2022

The Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), will gather Filipino home seekers, the Pag-IBIG Fund, property developers, and private financial institutions at the 7th annual Housing Expo on October 7 to 9, 2022.
Happening at the Megatrade Hall 1, Megamall B, Mandaluyong City, the three-day fair will feature various property offerings, construction supplies, and financial services for homeowners and buyers.
The event runs back-to-back with SHDA’s National Developers Convention held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, BGC, Taguig City, on October 5 to 6, 2022.
Joy de Joya, SHDA Governor and Housing Expo Committee Chair, said this year’s housing expo would bring different perks and incentives to help provide homes for every Filipino family.
“Our past expos have brought a menu of resilient, affordable, innovative, and smart housing units directly to end users. This year, we are also bringing various promos, incentives, and special financing schemes from our member-developers and bank partners to help provide a roof over the head of every Filipino family,” said de Joya.
“As the largest alliance of more than 300 housing developers in the country, it is our duty to respond to this problem by providing Filipinos with sustainable and affordable housing developments,” SHDA Board 1st Vice President and Chair of 30th National Convention Maya Colayco added.

“We push the boundaries of excellence of our products and services by offering sustainable development in the housing industry. Liora Homes Naic will be the biggest rooftop residential solar farm not only in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia,” CitiHomes Builder and Development, Inc. Executive Vice President John Philip Wang said.
SHDA’s Housing Expo throughout the years
Since 2015, the Housing Expo has been one of the many efforts of SHDA to help address the country’s housing backlog by extending its reach to more potential home buyers and generating jobs in the process.
During the 4th Housing Expo, former SHDA president Christopher Narciso shared: “The expo tries to dispel some myths, and aims to make homebuyers understand that home-ownership is really good.” He added, “We would like to increase home-ownership, especially among middle-class Filipino families, a segment of our population that has not fundamentally changed with regard to what they want to attain in life. They all share an aspiration to own a home and a car, to send their children to college, and to take occasional family vacations, while maintaining health and retirement security.”
The former president added that SHDA’s housing expo “is a great boon for prospective homeowners who are currently searching for the best deals in their ideal home or condominium locations.”
SHDA is the largest and leading industry association for housing and urban development in the Philippines. With 350 members nationwide and eight regional chapters, SHDA members include the country’s top real estate players and a dynamic national network of small and medium developers.
